The human voice, when developed to its full potential, is undoubtedly natures finest musical instrument. At the foundation of Professor Paramjeet Singhs workshops is a series of profoundly transformative traditional Indian vocal exercises. This vocal system employs pure primal sounds and is universal in nature. Harnessed by Indian masters for over 2,000 years, these techniques cultivate the quality and capacity of the voice while gently stimulating and harmonizing the bodys energy centers, relieving stress and creating inner peace.

Acting as catalysts for the divine chemistry of Malia and GuruGanesha are multi-instrumentalist Hans Christian (Rasa, Krishna Das, Robbie Robertson, Jai Uttal, Vas) percussionist/remix master Craig Kohland (Shamans Dream, Down Temple Dub, Donna DeLory) and fast rising young bassist Jared May. Given the virtuosity, rich musical history and deep dedication of each band member, this will truly be a world devotional supergroup.For two hours, we are not anything: Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Jew or Buddhist...we are simply souls.

A gentle yet expansive spirit pervades all the music of Mirabai Ceiba. The delicate sounds of harp, piano, and guitar blend with lovingly intertwined voices amid lush celestial soundscapes. Their concerts are group celebrations for peacejoyous and loving occasions that embody the duos profound belief in music as a universal language uniting all the worlds peoples, cultures and traditions.

The first annual Spring OMmersion is the more learning-oriented and intimate version of the hugely successful "Spiritual Woodstock" known as Bhakti Fest. From April 15-17, you will experience kirtan with world-traveling chant artists, yoga with the finest master teachers, and an outstanding curriculum of workshops. There will be delicious vegetarian and vegan food, a wellness sanctuary for massage, and an eco-friendly vendor village all located at the beautiful Joshua Tree Retreat Center in Joshua Tree, CA. You will leave renewed and revitalized, with a greater understanding of what it means to be in union with your Highest Self.

It's time we reached out and gave you a big cosmic hug. We love nothing more than spreading loving vibes to all we come across. These times call for a letting go of the old social stigmas and a deepened unconditional love for our fellow human-beings. With the latest developments in Japan we are reminded of how quickly things can be swept away regardless of all of our technological advances. I am being constantly reminded every day to live in the moment and quickly find a way to live from my heart now rather than wait for things to happen.
We have so much to share with you about our upcoming events, newly released and upcoming recording projects featuring some amazingly talented chant artists, non-profits and other companies doing great things, and much more.

On March 2nd Snatam Kaur returned to Los Angeles with iconic guitarist Guruganesha and percussion maestro Ramesh Kannan. Their first stop on a West Coast Tour didn't feel like the first stop as the band led songs and chants with masterful ease and vibrant expression.
The energy flowing at the event was magnetic and even erupted into ecstatic dancing throughout the theater. Snatam's voice soared as Guruganesha's transporting guitar riffs echoed through the airwaves. Definitely a night to remembered.

We are very excited about this event. Professor Paramjeet Singh is a true master and dear friend of Open Mind. His teaching spans far outside the realm of simple vocal training. This months spotlight features Kat Goduco Photography. Kat is one of those people who has defnitely found her calling and her work speaks for itself. Her professionalism and easy going personality match the caliber of her work. Kat shot the recent Snatam Concert on March 2nd and we were blown away by the photos. One job with Kat and we immediately felt like family. Kat is one of our favorite photographers to referr people to.
